Privacy and Cookie Policy

Last updated: 24/09/2026

This policy explains how MJS Construction (March) Ltd, MJS Projects (March) Ltd, MJS Civils (March) Ltd and MJS Safety Training Services Ltd ("MJS", "we", "us") collect and use personal information through this website, and how we use cookies.

Who we are

For the purposes of UK data protection law, the MJS company you contact or deal with is the controller of your personal information. You can reach us at MJS House, 425 Wisbech Road, Westry, March, PE15 0BA, on 01354 660663, or by email at info@mjsconstruction.co.uk.

What we collect

We collect:

  • Contact form details: your name, email address, phone number (optional) and anything you write in your message.
  • Correspondence: emails, calls and letters you send us, and our replies.
  • Technical information: your IP address and browser details, which our website host and the third-party services listed under "Cookies" receive automatically when your browser connects to them.

How we use it and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to prepare a quote or proposal. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To keep records of our dealings with clients, suppliers and other contacts. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running our business, and our legal obligations where records must be kept by law.
  • To keep the website secure and working. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing a safe, reliable website.

We will not add you to a marketing list or send you marketing emails unless you have asked us to. If you do opt in, you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:

  • Netlify, which hosts this website and processes contact form submissions on our behalf.
  • Our IT and email providers, who store our emails and files on our behalf.
  • Google and Mirror App, only if you accept cookies (see below).
  • Professional advisers, insurers, regulators or law enforcement, where we need to or are required to by law.

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and then delete them, normally within 2 years. If you become a client or supplier, we keep project and contract records for as long as the law and our insurers require.

Security

We have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it
  • object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests
  • ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, cookies)

To use any of these rights, email info@mjsconstruction.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this section.

We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies. The only non-essential cookies on this site come from two embedded third-party services, and we only load those if you click "Accept cookies".

Strictly necessary

  • mjs-cookie-consent (local storage, set by us): remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we don't ask on every page. Kept for 12 months, after which we ask again.

Third-party cookies (only with your consent)

  • Google Maps (Home and Contact pages): shows the location of MJS House. Google may set cookies to remember your preferences, keep the service secure and for its own purposes. See Google's cookie information.
  • Mirror App social feed (Home page): shows our latest Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn posts. Mirror App and the social networks whose content it displays may set cookies. See Mirror App's website for its privacy information.

Other third-party services

The Google star rating on our Home page is fetched from Google's Places service when the page loads. This does not set cookies, but Google receives your IP address as part of the request.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you reject cookies, the map and social feed will not load, but the rest of the site works as normal.

Links to other websites

This website links to other sites, including our social media pages. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
