MJS Construction (March) Ltd were contractor of choice for this central Cambridge contract. Following demolition of the old fire station the new works included construction of a 300m long capping beam atop contiguous piles, followed by the excavation of a large basement and construction of an underground car park. The RC frame then continued up 6 floors above a large 800mm thick transfer slab, ending in the penthouse apartment suite which is one of the highest points in Cambridge. MJS also undertook all drainage and attenuation works on the contract and successfully completed all external hard landscaping.
