MJS Construction (March) Ltd were contracted by Ashe Construction to construct the Claremont Building for their client, Cambridge University. MJS undertook the sub-structure groundworks and construction of the Ground Floor Slab, including all drainage, and mains incoming services installations and ductwork. MJS also constructed all the In-Situ Cols, Walls and Suspended Slabs which included a very high standard of finish with specific requirements from the client in terms of board layouts, shadow lines and dovetail rebates. MJS also supplied and installed the exposed finish PCC Stairs which were highly specified with detail work to treads and risers. This was a very challenging site on the busiest road in Cambridge, with very little lay down space, meaning MJS had to precisely plan every crane lift and material/kit delivery to maintain the overall clients programme and quality requirements. This Project has been nominated and has since won several Architectural Awards, and MJS were an integral part of this projects success.
